Children At Mass

Children At Mass
~~Children at Mass TO THE PARENTS OF OUR YOUNG CHILDREN: MAY WE SUGGEST.. Relax! God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. All are welcome! Sit toward the front, even the 1st row - it is easier for your little ones to see and hear what’s going on at the altar. They tire of seeing the backs of others’ heads.  Quietly explain the parts of the liturgy and actions of the priest, servers, etc.  Sing, pray, and voice the responses. Children learn by copying you.  If you have to leave with your chi...

The Labyrinth at St. Bernard's
The Labyrinth at St. Bernard's Catholic Community - (found behind the Church). Essentially the labyrinth is a prayer walk, a tool used in walking meditation and a symbolic reminder of the spiritual journey. The idea and design of the labyrinth is ancient and found in cultures all over the world. There are many forms of labyrinths, but most are a series of circular paths moving toward a center. Unlike a maze, which places obstacles in the path, the labyrinth draws you toward the center.' St. Bernard's labyrinth is patterned after the labyrinth found in the flo...

The Eucharist: Catholic Beliefs and Practices
The Eucharist: Catholic Beliefs and Practices The fourth in a series of teachings on the Eucharist  By Bishop Warfel I was at one of our Catholic schools for Mass a while back. A Communion Minister mentioned to me that some of the Precious Blood had accidently spilled on the floor. I covered up the spill with a purificator and then, after Mass, knelt at the spot of the spill in order to properly clean up the spill. Another Communion Minister who was present, related the incident to a member of my staff saying that I had made a big deal out of that issue of the Precio...
