| Minutes of Father Dave opened with An Emmaus Psalm, an evening prayer, adapted from Prayers for a Planetary Pilgrim by Ed Hays. There were 18 present. Father gave a report about the van that was donated. The taxes are paid up until January. Wendy will get a thank you so that Father can give or send it on to the anonymous donor. July 14 ‑1 7th, is the retreat up at Red Lodge for the Diocese. Cost is $100.00 per person plus lodging. There are forms if anyone would like to attend. Dan O'Donnell gave a report regarding the shelter with the churches. It would consist of one week, maybe every two years. We would provide breakfast, and a bag lunch for each person. There are about twenty different congregations who have committed their support ‑ currently about 2200 inter‑faith communities. The Diocese would like to know if we would be interested in a Parish Council Workshop. We are to let Sister Eileen know by June 30th. It was voted that if we would do something, we would send one to two people instead of having Sister come here. Father Dave reported about the task he had for the Education Committee ‑ which was to form the small faith groups again for this year, which unfortunately didn't get completed. Kevin Holland talked about a trip to the Round Barn, in Red Lodge, that will be on June 14th. The bus will cost $550.00, and he had asked if the Parish would pay the difference if for some reason there was just a little more money needed. So far it looked like all the seats would probably be filled. Father Dave gave a report on the Diocese finance meeting. There were a few people from Saint Bernard's that were also there, including Marilyn Harman and John Moorhouse. They had talked about a "head tax" of 10 to 12%, which didn't go over very well. The Diocese has lost about four to five hundred thousand a year, so they are trying to figure out a way for help. We have a replacement for Joe Sullivan, a lady from Michigan. She has her doctrine in music, and will be at Rocky as band director as well. She will be coming around the middle of July. The Parish Council has 5 out of the 10 members who have terms, which are up. Wendy Cirimele will continue to be secretary, even though her voting term as a council member will be up. Joe Mancuso gave a report on the Communication Committee. Randy Heinz said it would be beneficial to get a web page going. Some of the things that could be included would be things from the bulletin, and the Parish Council Minutes. Wendy will give Randy a copy of the minutes so that they can be inserted into the web page. Kevin Holland reported for the Parish Life Committee. They would like to have an additional $100.00 for next years Halloween Party, and maybe have some dance lessons again next year. They also put in for $200.00 for "New Comers" baskets. Blake reported for the Liturgy/Worship Committee. The committee went over Lent and Holy Week. (Blake had put together some nice booklets which was wonderful and easy to follow for such a busy time of year.) For Holy Thursday there was some home‑made hosts, which were used that were left over from the Youth Mass. Now, they just have some clean‑up of Easter (like cleaning the Easter Vigil cups) and decorating for Pentecost. Then they will remove the decorations for ordinary time for summer. Dan O'Donnell gave the Social Justice Committee report. Things that were completed this year ‑ was the school in Haiti and the dedication. We sponsor about 170 students, and also sent the sea containers. They are still working on the Inter‑faith housing at the different churches, the Parish Nurse program, the Prison Ministry, and hope to follow through with more workshops for next year. We will be having a "pot‑luck" for our next meeting on June 24th. Chairs are to call and get a number of those who can attend and give to Wendy. Father David said that the church will buy the meat. Our next meeting with "pot‑luck" will start at six o'clock due to the dinner. Kevin then closed the meeting at 9:15 pm. Respectfully submitted, |
